Templates for every storyteller

From daily comic strips to full graphic novel pages and professional storyboards — every format in one generator.

Comic & Manga

3-panel to 9-panel grids suit newspaper strips, manga pages, and webcomic layouts. Adjust gutter width to match your style.

Graphic Novel

Use the 6 or 8-panel grid for story pages with caption boxes. Print a stack of templates and pencil directly on them.

Storyboard

The storyboard layout pairs a thumbnail panel with lined notes for shot description, dialogue, and action notes — used in film, animation, and advertising.

Frequently asked questions

What size panels do professional comics use?+
Manga and US comics typically use A4 or Letter pages with 6–9 panels. For newspaper strips, use landscape A4 or Letter with 3–4 panels. There's no single standard — adapt to your story.
What is a gutter in comics?+
A gutter is the space between panels. The reader's imagination fills in the action between panels — this invisible gap is where the storytelling magic happens. Typical gutters are 3–8 mm.
Should I use portrait or landscape for storyboards?+
Landscape works best if your storyboard represents a widescreen (16:9) film or video format. Portrait suits traditional animation and book-format stories.
Can I use these templates for manga?+
Yes. The 9-panel grid (3×3) is common in manga. Many manga artists also use varied panel sizes — start with a 6-panel template and divide panels by hand.
