FAQ
Number line questions
What is a number line?+
A number line is a horizontal line with numbers marked at regular intervals. It is used to visualise addition, subtraction, multiplication, fractions, negative numbers, and inequalities. It is one of the most fundamental tools in primary mathematics education.
How many lines per page should I use?+
1 line per page is ideal for young children or for large demonstrations. 3 lines per page is the standard for general use. 5–8 lines per page fits on a compact worksheet for older students.
What is the fraction number line (0 to 1)?+
The fraction number line shows the interval from 0 to 1 divided into eighths (0, ⅛, ¼, ⅜, ½, ⅝, ¾, ⅞, 1). It is used to teach fraction equivalence, ordering fractions, and placing fractions on a number line.
